“”Is it okay to take an urgent phonecall when I am in the company of friends or in a business meeting? If so, what is the etiquette for doing so?”
Other than the COVID-19 pandemic, the wonderful invention of the smart phone is arguably one of the most prevalent invasions of privacy in our lifetime.
The use of phones in public places, and when spending time with others, is one of the biggest complaints I hear about modern society, along with the impact of social media of course.
In the following extract from my online signature programme, the Lady’s Social Etiquette & Empowerment Course, I give advice on how we should deal with the situation of needing to take an important call, along with tips about where phones should be placed at other times.
I hope this helps clarify the correct action to take and I look forward to answering further questions in next week’s article.
